Apex bids a bittersweet farewell to employee #1 – Rhys Griffiths

With his interesting mix of the Queen’s English and a Georgia Drawl, Rhys Griffiths is one of the least typical guys you’ll meet, but over the years he’d become one of my favorites.  Rhys was employee #1 at Apex Speed Technology, moving from quiet Claxton, GA to Venice Beach, CA to build harnesses out of my old apartment.  From the very start, he brought a well respected attention to detail and inquisitive nature that made him both an asset to work with an a pleasure to be around.

Rhys grew with Apex, first becoming a system designer, then a top-rate tuner and finally as a well-respected data support engineer in some of the top racing paddocks in the world.   He pioneered our involvement in Land-Speed-Record racing, spearheading multiple record-setting programs at Bonneville and joining the Texas 200 MPH club riding the very same turbo-busa that he commuted to work and back on!

Though Rhys is leaving his daily role at Apex, we’re excited to continue to work with him on special projects and new endeavors.  Although we’ll miss seeing him in his day-to-day role at Apex, we are greatful for everything he’s done to grow this company and look forward to a future continuing to make things go really, really fast together!
